Friday, Saturday, Sunday Labor Day Weekend
The City of Los Angeles and Council President Herb Wesson, in association with the Korean American Coalition (KAC), the Latino Coalition of Los Angeles and The William Grant Still Arts Center, is hosting a community art exhibit that will feature works from both established local artists and promising youth artists centered on the theme of diversity and their vision of Los Angeles as it stands today. The exhibit will be held at the EK Gallery on Saturday, August 19th and aims to celebrate the diversity of our city. Selected youth submissions will be featured alongside a number of featured artists from the community. More details about the event will be announced at a press conference hosted by Los Angeles City Council President Herb Wesson in June. We are now accepting submissions from high school and college aged students (15-25) for consideration to be featured at the exhibit. On the day of the event submissions will be reviewed by a panel of judges, comprised of the feature artists from each community, where 4 youth artists will be selected to feature their body of works in a separate exhibit at EK Gallery. In addition to the exhibit, one overall winner will win a $2000 cash prize. This opportunity will provide visibility for promising young artists in the community in an event that will be heavily promoted to local media. Requirements: ●
